EUSS Advice and Support in London
Since June, our advice service has supported around 102 individuals with advice on the EU Settlement Scheme. Generally, most inquiries were in relation to the new, alternative route to meet the residency requirements that came in force on 16 July 2025, and queries on supporting evidence for applications.
You can find more information on how to prove your residence in the UK, and the types of evidence you can provide in your application on our Resource Hub.
Outreach
Our drop-in sessions, facilitated by our community partners Latin American House, continue to thrive. Since June, we’ve assisted 7 individuals, on queries related to joining family member applications, updating personal information on one’s UKVI account and pre-settled to settled status eligibility assessments.
The next drop-in session will be on Thursday, October 23rd 14:00 – 16:00 pm.
We are also excited to share that we have started a new partnership with Edmonton Community Partnership, based in North London. As a result, we now have a monthly drop-in session catered to their service users, which has proven effective following a busy first session in September!
The next drop-in session will be on Thursday, November 13th 9:30 – 11:30 am.
Community engagement
Besides our drop-in sessions, we have also engaged with several networks and forums across London Boroughs. We have also attended a Community Day at Barking FC, organised by L&Q Group, to bring together young people, wellbeing activities and the local community in Barking!
Throughout the months, we have regularly attended meetings on the EUSS Alliance on several topics such as retained rights of residence, domestic violence and dealing with long absences in complex applications, and how we can best support individuals who are facing these issues. We have seen case complexity steadily increasing, as is service demand.
We have attended several workshops facilitated by the EU Delegation to the UK on rights, anti-racism, advocacy, and strategies for building resilience within the EU Settlement Scheme sector, created following the EU Citizens Gathering in June.
We are also delighted to share that we have been shortlisted for the 2025 EmpowerEU Awards!
This recognition from the European Union in the UK highlights the incredible work we have done across the UK to support EU citizens, strengthen communities and build meaningful connections between people and across borders. We look forward to celebrating together at the EmpowerEU Awards ceremony later this autumn!
