Luljeta Nuzi speaking at the APPG on Citizens’ Rights

We at New Europeans are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Luljeta Nuzi (Luli). Luli was a devoted and tireless advocate for migrant communities, dedicating much of her life to empowering individuals and creating initiatives to support those in need. Her unwavering commitment was clearly demonstrated through her pivotal role in funding and leading Shpresa, an organisation that stands as a testament to the impactful work Luli built and that has greatly impacted countless lives.

Luli was, and will always be, a beacon of hope for many within migrant communities. Throughout her work, she relentlessly advocated for her community, going above and beyond to ensure that marginalised groups were heard and supported. Her efforts were instrumental in amplifying the voices of those often overlooked, and in creating opportunities for positive change.

As we remember Luli, we reflect on the profound impact she had during her time working alongside us. In partnership with Shpresa, we were able to offer guidance and support to many, with Luli playing a key role in building bridges between New Europeans and the Albanian community. Her leadership helped foster a spirit of unity, understanding, and solidarity that will continue to inspire our work together with Shpresa.

Luli leaves behind a legacy of generosity, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to community organising. Her work will remain a cornerstone of social justice, serving as a powerful reminder of what true devotion to equality, kindness and community together can achieve. Her memory will continue to guide and inspire all those whose lives she touched, and we are forever grateful for her contributions. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time.
