EUSS Advice and Support in London

During this summer, from June to August, our advice service received 96 incoming referrals from residents all over London. This also includes referrals from our newly introduced drop-in sessions at Latin American House and Barking & Dagenham!

The most common queries were switching from pre-settled to settled status, and questions on providing evidence for absences.

Given our partnership work, we had a mix of queries from Non-EEA family members, elderly UK residents and various vulnerable groups inquiring about the EU Settlement Scheme. They mainly included questions on eligibility requirements to switch from pre-settled to settled status, demystifying the automated switching process as well as the 5 year pre-settled status extensions.

Our advice line is open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 4pm(excluding Bank Holidays).

If you have any questions, email us at help@neweuropeans.uk

Have a look at our Resources hub for information in all aspects of the EU Settlement Scheme, versions in English and community languages available.

Outreach

This summer we focused on facilitating our drop-in sessions, conducting research into different areas of the EU Settlement Scheme and supporting our partners in capacity building.

We have already facilitated two drop-in sessions at Latin American House, and have interacted with more than 15 individuals on the EU Settlement Scheme. We were able to assess their cases and questions, and provide personalised advice based on their own situation.

We received many compliments from the community itself, many commenting that these free sessions are a great help to vulnerable communities, as they help to reach those who lack the English language speaking skills, or who may feel more comfortable providing and receiving information from within their communities. We look forward to our upcoming sessions together, see below for exact information for our sessions.

In addition, our Barking and Dagenham sessions are running smoothly – helping local residents in both Barking and Dagenham with advice and resources on switching from pre-settled to settled status, evidence to provide in your settled status application, EUSS aftercare guides and more.
